i wanted to fall in love like
the way that one falls out of a tree;
hard, with a loud bang,
like they do in the movies.
i wanted to fall in love to where
everyone knew i had fallen.
i wanted them to
see it in my eyes.

i wanted to fall in love like
the broken girl finds the boy that
saves her.
i wanted to be saved.
i wanted to fall in love; hard,
people watching like our
story was a drama on the television

but i fell in love quietly,
without knowing,
without stopping.
i fell in love unsuspecting, without
thinking that it might've
been you.  i fell in love yearning;
i fell in love like a mother
falls in love with its child.
i did not fall in love the way i
fell out:
hard, forceful,
heart tearing with each step.
i am having a very hard time accepting who i am.

it is honestly the worst thing in my entire life, and don't you dare tell me that i am not allowed to say that because i am only sixteen and have not lived out my life yet because not knowing who you are or what you are and not being able to accept yourself and love yourself is the worst thing that could happen to anyone, and if you don't want to take my word on it, just ask every other goddamn human sturggling with their person.

I favorited for the poem, but related to the description.
Whoever called you out on age hasn't lived a life in whatever amount of year's they've had. I know kids who've lived through more hell then most adults, and teens who've seem more of the world then some archeologists. Age, time, neither of them matter. All that matters is what has been done and what has happened in them.
(Btw, I love the part where it goes 'I fell in love like a mother falls in love with it's child', such a soft and warm sound seemed to come from it)

Very good, and very true. Don't let your struggles become your identity.

This is a gorgeous piece, thank you for sharing it.
And, regarding your note, I've been there and done that - the whole nine yards, hang in there and remember that you're in charge. If other people don't like who you are forget them, their opinion doesn't mean a thing, and if you can't accept yourself - it's possible to change. Not always easy, but definitely possible.
